Newer - Islands of Adventure

Since I took a recent trip to Islands of Adventure I thought I would add more. First let me say – if you go in June you’re a fool. Just kidding, but I did and it was hot! We had a pass to both Universal parks and did IA first since I knew US had more things to do inside.

Check the time that park closes, I was surprised it closed at 8pm in June.
Each park sells the “Express Plus” where you can purchase a pass to bypass the lines. Hey good for you if you have the money but don’t expect the rest of us to smile at you as you pass by all happy.
Look up character times and you can meet your favorites if you time your visit right. Surprisingly you hardly have to wait in line for your photo.
Refillable cups are the way to go. We had one and used it all day for $.69 refills that came to $.74 and even offers Zephyrhills water.

Marvel Superhero Island
Spiderman
– 3D you will see, hear and feel this attraction. When I went it said it was a 60 minute wait, but really we only waited for 40 minutes. They smartly made the line file through Peter Parker type rooms to keep you somewhat occupied. This ride is a simulator and if you have any fear of heights beware because you truly feel as though you are high. But relax, just remove your glasses and look at something else.
Hulk – if you love roller coasters, you love this, no need to say anything more.

Toon Lagoon
Popeye & Bluto Bilge-Rat Barges – this is a ride that you will get wet. Here is a blonde tip – if you are getting in a seat that is wet, you will be wet. I took big garbage bags, what a good idea because I quickly used them going on this ride. The center of the ride holds items that you want to keep dry and if you have larger things they will give you a tote box. Listen, if you want your feet to thank you quickly remove your shoes and socks…they will get wet. Fun ride!

Jurassic Park
River Adventure – another get wet ride ending with an 85 foot plunge into water. The beginning is calm and relaxing but that all changes. I sat on the left side and was wetter than those on the right.

The Lost Continent
Dueling Dragons
– a great roller coaster with 2 options – “fire” or “ice”, I think equally as fun. The 2 tracks pass one another for a fight in the sky. The ride lasts just over 2 minutes and is a blast.

Seuss Landing
The Cat in the Hat
– I do not care for this twisty ride but many people do.
Seuss Trolley – this is a nice slow way to see some views of the park that you cannot on the ground. The area is very colorful and you really feel as though you are in Whooville.
