When visiting a resort you can rent winter clothes. Living in Florida we sure didn’t have even as much as a decent jacket. Added up all the costs for enjoying our trips the rental of clothes just seemed ridiculous. Thank goodness I am married to the EBay king. Soon Adam was shopping. Jackets, snow bib pants, boots, and gloves arrived in enough time for us to pack and cost way less than if we rented. Another bonus of having our own was that the kids could wear it off the slopes and not have to worry about returning it.
I think you need good boots for traction and warmth. Snow pants are great to have because they keep you dry. Since winter clothing takes up so much room I packed all of it in a Rubbermaid container, not attractive luggage but it was a good idea I think. It will all go in our attic for the next winter vacation.
