Smokescreen – as an ex smoker I have to address briefly why you should try to quit. I was luckier then most that I was able to do it cold turkey, especially since my husband did it first. It became a choice we had to make because we were in the planning stage of becoming parents. Plus my migraines were out of control and nicotine wasn’t helping (*see migraines - in time). Nicotine causes the blood vessels in the brain to constrict and also stimulates the nerves on the back of the throat causing pain.
So real quick, 20 minutes after you smoke your last cigarette your body starts to repair itself. Your BP decreases, pulse rate drops, and you body temperature increase in your feet and hands. Later in the same day your oxygen levels raise and the carbon monoxide levels drop. 2 days later your taste and smell improve. The benefits just keep going from there, I’m sure you have heard it many times. I also know when I was a smoker I didn’t want to hear anyone preach to me.
Only a smoker can make the decision to be a quitter and hopefully you are able to do so. At least be responsible and throw your butts away,
and do not smoke around you children!
