Florida Driving

Driving – While you will not drive through a snow storm here, you can all of sudden find yourself in a tyrannical downpour. Give yourself extra time when traveling; leave more space between you and the next car because roads are slippery, if you can stay in the middle lane which is usually higher than the outer lane. Florida is full of ditches and other water holding areas and when full you really cannot tell how deep they are. Stay alert to that. When I first started driving the rain storms made me nervous, but I’m use to them now. You really just have to take it slower, put your lights on and be aware. Also, watch out for overly cautious drivers who may put you at risk with their driving. Also buckle up, it’s the law or as they say “click it or ticket”.
