NC Trip - Snow Tubing at Jonas Ridge

Snow Tubing – since we were so close to Beech Mt Ski Resort we knew we would go tubing there. The days before we had not looked at the new run for tubing but when we finally did we were not impressed and at $20 each it just didn’t look worth it. The day before we stopped for directions at a place and decided to head back there to check it out. “Snow Tubing at Jonas Ridge” was a simple place but what a money maker. The price was $25 for 2 hours, they had a longer run, and 5 lanes moving fairly quick so we paid for the kids and even gave the riders a lift up the hill. They had a blast and after an hour had most of the place to themselves. The staff was friendly and I found out the owner also has a campground down the road that they run on the off season for tubing. Adam and I had a good time watching our children do something together…and get along. I was pleased with our choice to go away from the resort. I would recommend later in the day, we went on a Sunday. http://www.steelecreekpark.com/ is the camp grounds they own, click on the link under local links for tubing. This place is also in the general area of all things I will post about my North Carolina trip.
