Before enlisting in the military please read all the fine print and know what you are getting in to especially the length you are signing for.
Basic:
Prior to leaving for a base read up on the website, check postings from other military people who may have gone through the same basic – they might give tips on things to bring or do before leaving your home
Write encouraging letters, cards or even post cards
Utilize the website of where your military family is, check it often for dates on upcoming events. Read up on the phases to stay informed of what they are going through. Some sites even post photos. Try to get the graduation date as far in advance as you can if you plan on attending.
