Portuguese Man of War – floating jelly fish that have tentacles with stingers that carry poison. If you get stung, pour ocean water on the area, cover and then scrape away any stingers and wash again with ocean water. Sometimes they float up on the shore and have a pretty iridescent color…leave them alone, you will get stung.

When visiting a few years ago we saw these on the beach and thought they were pretty. Lucky for us we were told not to mess with them. Good to know for visitors to your state and newly moved people.
